That’s why its energy is so well-suited for rituals relating to letting go of things. If you are looking to move on from a past relationship or let go of emotional baggage in your love life so that your path is cleared for new connections, this full moon release spell is perfect.
What you need:
A white candle (for cleansing energy)
A black candle (for releasing energy)
A small piece of paper and a pen
A fire-safe bowl
How to cast:
This spell is to be performed on the night of a full moon. Begin by arranging your tools in a line: Place your black candle on the left, your fire-safe bowl in the middle, and your white candle on the right. Light the black candle first, which symbolizes transformation and letting go. Once the candle is lit, visualize the person or romantic feelings that you are releasing and imagine yourself breaking free, feeling whole and empowered and independent. Write down exactly what you are letting go of on the small piece of paper.
Next, light your white candle, which symbolizes cleansing away old energy and clearing the path for all that’s yet to come. Place the paper in the fire-safe bowl and carefully burn it, allowing it to transform into ash. As the paper burns, recite the following spell: “The moon is full, as is my heart. What you need:
A jar of honey (any size will do)
Small piece of paper and a pen
A photo of your love interest (optional)
Rose quartz or calcite crystals, and/or a pink candle (optional)
How to cast:
On a piece of paper, write the name of the person you’d like to work the spell for, and if you’d like, write down a few positive adjectives that describe the energy you’d like to bring to your relationship with them. Fold up the paper and place it inside the jar of honey, completely submerging it in the golden sweetness. Begin by filling a jar with water, then add in a splash of rose water or sprinkle of rose oil—as rose symbolizes love and romance, and helps to open your heart. A small shallow bowl
Floral essential oils of your choice
Seashells
Rose quartz
A fresh rose
A sensual-smelling incense (optional)
A statue or photo representation of Aphrodite (optional)
How to cast:
If you have an altar, that’s a great place to set up this spell, but it’s also effectively done next to your bed, on a vanity, or wherever you perform your daily beauty rituals. Begin by setting out your bowl and filling it with a small amount of water. Add a few drops of a floral essential oils to the water. You can use rose oil for love, jasmine oil for sex appeal, ylang ylang for sensuality, or any combination of floral essences. Then, place a rose quartz crystal in the water alongside some seashells (which are one of Aphrodite’s most meaningful symbols). If you have a small statue or other visual representation of Aphrodite, place it behind or near the bowl.
Now take your rose and pull the petals off the flower one by one, placing each petal into the bowl while envisioning the qualities of your ideal lover.
